Billie Jean Davis

Billie Jean Davis, 78, of Bartlesville, triumphantly entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Billie was born February 4, 1947, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, to William Warren and Erma Jean (Hodgson) Ryan. She grew up in Barnsdall, graduating from Barnsdall High School in 1965. After high school, Billie was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company for about seven years.

She met the love of her life, Louis M. Davis Jr., through a school friend. They were married on April 5, 1969, in Bartlesville. Once they started their family, Billie was a stay-at-home mother. After her children were in school, she started working as a special education teacher's assistant at Dewey Public Schools. She enjoyed that job for about 10 years, when she decided to take computer classes at Tri County Technology Center. She then started employment with Service Technology Corporation (STC), where she worked for nine years and given the title of "Director of First Impressions". Once she saw a need to babysit her grandchildren, she decided to retire from STC. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and spoiling them rotten.

Billie enjoyed sewing and decorating for the holidays. She loved animals, but she especially loved her two cats Penny and Poppy. She was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain and feed everyone. She made many wonderful dishes, including her famous chicken and noodles.

Billie and Louis enjoyed traveling and some of their favorite places to visit include Eureka Springs and Branson. Louis said they were able to make it to all but three states, North Dakota, Idaho, and Oregon. In 2023, Billie took her dream vacation to Ireland with her daughter Meredith, sister Debbie, and two of her grandchildren.

Billie was a long-time member of Dewey First Christian Church and served as treasurer of the Dewey Lions Club for many years.

She was first and foremost a wonderful wife, mother, and Meme, as her grandchildren called her. She will be dearly missed.

Billie is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Louis; her daughter, Meredith Bentley and husband Blake; her son, Ryan Davis and his wife Julie; a sister, Debbie Pearson and husband Terry; three brothers, Larry Ryan and wife Sherry, Jerry Ryan, and Patrick Ryan; five grandchildren, Piper Loyd, Taylor Davis, Kelsi Davis, Rian Davis, and Easton Davis; two bonus grandchildren, Morgan Kent, and Madison Moore; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter, Amber Shea Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Billie's name to the OCSRI Bartlesville Cancer Center at 3470 E Frank Phillips Blvd., Bartlesville, OK.
