Billie Grace Peterson

Billie Grace Miller Peterson, age 88, beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, after a short illness.

Billie Grace was born in Erwin on September 8, 1936, to Roscoe and Ruby Miller. She lived in Erwin for 79 years and then moved to Florida where she has resided for the past 10 years. She served as the Clerk and Master of Chancery Court in Unicoi County until she retired on December 31, 1998.

When living in Erwin, Billie Grace was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was dedicated to serving her Lord and others in the church. She had the gift of service and hospitality. After moving to Florida, she was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Apopka, Florida.

Billie Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Carlis Ralph "Pete" Peterson, her parents, Roscoe and Ruby Miller, her siblings, Frances Dugger and husband Howard, Lena Laughrun and husband IB, Reva Miller (infant), Doris Miller, Patricia Bell, and Paul Miller and wife Ella Jean, son-in-law, Larkey Ray McInturff, and niece, Judy Humphrey.

Billie Grace is survived by her daughter, Jill McInturff of Zellwood, Florida; nephews: Jim Dugger and wife Melvie of Tavares, Florida, Mike Laughrun and wife Cynthia of Umatilla, Florida, Brian Miller and wife Connie of Eustis, Florida, Tom Miller and wife Marcella of Grand Rapid, Michigan, and Ben Bell of Goshen, Alabama; niece, Mary Beth Odom and husband Dave of Franklin, Tennessee; brother-in-law, Roger Bell of Goshen, Alabama; and several great nephews, great nieces, cousins and special friends.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Billie Grace Miller Peterson in a graveside committal service to be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 18, 2025, in Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend David Crutchfield will officiate. Those attending the committal service should meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 am for the service. Serving as active pallbearers will be Roger Bell, Ben Bell, Hudson Odom, Jude Odom, Steve Kegley, Steve Tilson, Junior Osborne, and Andrew Ramsey.
