Billie Sue Ragain, age 67, of Trenton, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:40 p.m. at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on July 30, 1957, in Mexico, MO, the daughter of James William and Patsy Lucille (Miller) Douglas.
She was a graduate of Community R6 Class of 1975. She continued with her education attending at Hannibal-LaGrange University of Hannibal, MO and received her Registered Nursing Degree from Kaskaskia College of Centralia, IL.
She was united in marriage to Ronald Dean Ragain on February 24, 1979, in the Baptist Church of Hannibal, MO and together they have shared 45 years of marriage.
Her working career for 35 years was as a Registered Nurse working at various hospitals with her last position at Barnes-Jewish Hospital of St. Louis, MO.
She was a member of Revive Assembly of God Church of Collinsville, IL.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Her family was a very important part of her life, and she enjoyed the many times they all spent together. She was proud of their many accomplishments, especially those of her children and grandchildren. The many memories created will now be cherished by those she leaves behind.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Dean Ragain of Trenton, IL; two daughters, Kristy Marie Massey and husband, Kyle of Troy, IL and Amy Elizabeth Ragain of Trenton, IL; son, Jesse Dean Ragain and wife, Megan of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren, Kory Andrew Massey and Katie Marie Massey both of Troy, IL and Maxwell James Ragain and Levi Mitchell Ragain both of Pensacola, FL; three sisters, Cherry Pasley of Laddonia, MO, Patti Wilson and husband, Brent of Beloit, IL and Connie Marie Douglas of, Utah; brother-in-law, Jerry Lee Ragain and wife, Dianne of Cahokia, Heights, IL, other extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
The graveside service will be held at Busby Cemetery, located at 7715 State Route 37, Goreville, IL on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. Those attending the service are asked to gather at the cemetery just prior to 12:30 p.m.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to "Busby Cemetery." Contribution envelopes will be available at the graveside service or may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL, 62959.
