Billy Butler Obituary
Billy Joe Butler, age 65, of Freeman, VA, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Born in Portsmouth, VA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Butler. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Koonce.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Holly Mae Joyner; six children, Justin Butler, Brandon Butler, Jesse Butler (Kristina), John Raynard, Alley Joyner (William Canfield, III), and Cody Raynard; five grandchildren, his siblings, Betty Jean Pierce (Larry), James “Buddy” Butler (Shiela), Melinda Blow (Jimmy), and Floyd Butler (Melody), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and Knight of Pythias.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2025 at Williams Funeral Home & Crematory in Lawrenceville, VA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
