Indianapolis –Billy Joe Garland, 91, passed away on May 6th, 2022 at Franciscan Hospice House. Billy was born on May 13th, 1930, to Connie and Nora Garland in Hickman County, Kentucky.
Billy worked as a carpenter for most of his life, after having served as a pastor for a local church in Kentucky. He found joy in spending time with his family, his dogs and cats, and fishing with neighborKen and brother-in-law Ed.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Connie and Nora Garland; brother Wayne Garland, sisters Jimmie Lou Byasee and Patty Mix (Joe Lynn); and grandson Joseph Sawyer.
Billy is survived by his wife Dorothy Garland; son Steven Joe Garland (Michelle); daughters Laura Sawyer (Kevin), and Joetta Garland; grandchildren Robert Steven Garland, Grace Lynn Garland, Paul Michael Sawyer, and two great granddaughters.
Friends and family will gather Wednesday May 11th, 2022 from 11 – 1 pm at Carlisle Branson to celebrate Billy's life with services beginning at 1 pm. Burial will follow at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville, IN.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to your favorite local church or charity.
