Obituary of Billy Rodney Hutto
Billy Rodney Hutto, 50, of Pacific WA, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 1, 2023, while at work.
Billy was born on March 23,1973 to Perry and Nancy Hutto in Galveston, Texas. He was raised in Palestine, Tx and after graduating from Palestine High School in 1991, he proudly served his country in the US Army from 1991-1997. He attended Basic training and AIT at Ft. Sill, Ok. Billy served overseas in Mogadishu, Somalia South Africa during Operation Restore Hope, but served his entire active duty career at Ft. Lewis. Billy enjoyed his time in the service working in communications (31U). He formed relationships with others he still holds today.
October 21,1992 Billy met his future wife, Nicole at the Ft. Lewis, Main Gate entrance. Six whirlwind weeks later they would be married on December 19, 1992. On January 2,1993 Billy's unit deployed to Somalia, returning late April 1993.
After serving his country, Billy and Nicole left Ft. Lewis where they lived for a short time in Lacey where they learned they would be parents. They moved to Auburn in 1997 where they would live for the next 7 years before buying their first home in Pacific, WA. They would go on to have 3 boys: Nathaniel (Nate) 25, Ashton (17) and Mason (12).
Billy proudly worked for All City Door company for 18 years, learning everything he could about installing and servicing garage doors, he loved being able to help people. Being a small company, he was very close to owner and fellow employees Chris, Dan and Phil who he considered to be like brothers. Billy's southern charm, beautiful blue eyes, big personality and manners always drew attention, he was a very proud Texan and lived up to the saying "everything's bigger in Texas."
In his spare time, he loved spending time with his boys attending car shows, watching car racing, taking long rides in his 99 Chevy Silverado and watching funny movies. Billy was a huge Dallas Cowboy football fan since he was a kid and instilled this passion in his 2 older boys. Most weekends he could be found grilling up some delicious southern BBQ or smoking some ribs on his Traeger in a way only Billy could. Living in a small neighborhood, most knew when Billy had his grill fired up!
If you were lucky enough to call Billy your friend then you know there would always be someone in your corner. He looked forward to his annual camping trip to Greenwater, where his brother from another mother, Matt and his wife Jess would join him and the boys for a week with family in the woods. Billy loved to laugh and had a special knack at being able to recite silly lines or sayings from movies and shows. His personality was as big as his laugh and if he was near, you would know it, he loved life and his 2 pitbull dogs Shorty and Castor. Billy's absence leaves a huge hole in our lives and he will be forever loved and deeply missed.
Billy leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Nicole, his sons Nate, Ashton and Mason all of Pacific. His dad Perry Hutto of Sequim, Sister Janie Hutto and nephew Dylan. He is preceded in death by his grandparents and loving mother Nancy Hutto.
A service will be held at Mt. Tahoma National Cemetery on Friday May 26, 2023 at 0930, all are welcome to attend. If you feel so inclined, all donations will go towards expenses needed to lay Billy to rest and to help the family stay in their home. Thank you and God Bless.
