It is with heavy hearts that the family of Billy Stowers, 39 years old, of Pampa, Texas, shares the news of his passing on Friday, July 25, 2025. Although saddened, Billy has finally found peace, and his soul is at rest in eternal glory. He was born in Pampa on July 31, 1985, to Suzie Hulsey and Bobby Stowers.
In 1988, when Billy was only three years old, Suzie met Donnie Terry and from that point on, not only did Donnie feel blessed to have a new son to take under his wing, but Billy was blessed to have a daddy step into his life and love him as his own. Together, they forged an unbreakable bond, and Donnie took pride in guiding Billy through life's lessons-skills Billy eagerly absorbed and put to use, whether working on motorcycles, tackling electrical projects, or embarking on new challenges. Billy's inquisitive mind led him to study the Bible deeply, and he was known for his intelligence and willingness to learn from everyone around him.
A lifelong resident of Pampa and an alumnus of Pampa schools, Billy was vibrant and outgoing before a motorcycle accident eleven years ago changed his path. He thrived outdoors-fishing, exploring, and reveling in the thrill of hotrods and motorcycles. Billy was, above all, unfailingly generous and selfless, always first to lend a helping hand or offer the very shirt off his back.
Though life's trials brought him periods of darkness, Billy's faith remained steadfast. His family takes comfort in knowing he now rests free from pain and sorrow, reunited with his grandfathers, Bill Hulsey and Bill Terry, and an infant nephew, Harlow Yates.
Billy's memory lives on in those who cherished him most: his mother and dad, Suzie and Donnie Terry of Pampa; his father, Bobby Stowers and wife Susan of Sayre, OK; sons, Brenton Stowers of Pampa and Zayden Gutierrez of Amarillo; daughter, Taylor Stowers of Pampa; grandmother, Lou Terry of Pampa; sister and brother-in-law, Cassidy and Brandon Yates of Pampa; grandson, Carter Landers; Aunt Sherry and Uncle Rick Payton of Woodward, OK, Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Jean Terry of Pampa, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Bill Brown of Pampa cousins, Steven Terry of Midland, J.T. Brown of Pampa, Jacob Brown of Amarillo, Chloe Brown of Pampa, Chrisy Key of Woodward, OK; nieces, Ella Hollon, Haizlee Yates; nephew, Kaden Yates and a wide circle of extended family and friends whose lives he touched with warmth and generosity.
The family will be hosting a private Celebration of Life Memorial service. They have entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
For those who wish to remember Billy with a gift, the family suggests donations to the Diabetes Foundation of the High Plains, 4211 I-40 West Suite 201, Amarillo, TX 79106-6000.
