Billy Sturgis Obituary
He was preceded in death by: two brothers: Earnest Mitchell and Tommy Sturgis; two sisters: Peggy Powell (Robert) and Alberta Ricks; brother in-law, Ivy Hill.
He was educated in the Iredell County School System and worked at Burlington Mills in Mooresville, NC for over thirty years. He also drove for Pat's Taxi.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: Sharon Sturgis; step-daughter, Mary Chambers (Nathan); four grandchildren: Tomekia Friday (Dereck), Melondy Sturgis, Elijah Powell and Nathan Chambers; five great grandchildren: Mariah Scott, Sanaa Friday, Maliyah Sturgis, Cash Friday, Erykah Friday; three sister-in-laws: Macy Hill, Barbara Mitchell, Pamela Sturgis and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church located at 6280 Pleasant Grove Church Rd. in Kannapolis, NC. The visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. followed by the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. Lamb Funeral Home Inc. will be serving the family.

Billy and I worked third shift at Burlington Ind. in Mooresville. We went fishing together and bowled on a league together. He was a nice person!
