Just CremationsBilly Mac Styron, Sr., passed away on August 13, 2025, in Beaufort, North Carolina, at the age of 89. Born on June 19, 1936, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina, he lived a long and full life rooted in family and simple joys.
Billy was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Styron and the son of Charlie and Thelma Styron. He was also preceded in death by his siblings Peggy Beck, Sue Richards, and Evelyn Willis. His legacy continues through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who carry forward his memory with love.
He is survived by his sons Billy Mac Styron Jr. and partner Kim Brewer of Atlantic; Billy Lee Styron and wife Peggy Styron of Beaufort; and Charlie Styron and Christie Snell of Beaufort. His grandchildren include Rebecca Riggs of Hubert; Austin Styron of New Jersey; Allison Styron of Whiteville; Christopher Gueganus of Cape Carteret; Tomi Lawrence and husband Brad with their children Landon and Carma Merrill of Cedar Island; Candace Sepulveda and husband Juan with their children TJ, John, Nevaeh, and Brayden Sepulveda of Beaufort; Brandi Thomas and husband Cory with daughter Makenzie Thomas of Newport; Luke Styron’s partner Sam Burdick with their children Liam Burdick and Eli Styron of Morehead; and Morgan Brotzman and husband Nathan with daughter Natalynn Brotzman of Havelock.
Billy is also remembered by his brother Rick Styron and wife Carolyn of Morehead City, his sister Dianne Taylor and husband Bud of Fayetteville, as well as many nieces and nephews who were dear to him.
A man who found joy in the everyday rhythms of life, Billy loved mowing his yard, tending to his garden, and cooking for those around him. These simple pleasures reflected a life grounded in care for home and family.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at 4 PM at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church - 111 Hodges Street, Morehead City 28557 on August 30th, 2025.
