Mr. Billy Ray Young, age 84 of Boaz, Alabama, died on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Shepherd’s Cove.
Funeral service will be held at Eleven o’clock am on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Pleasant Hill #1 Baptist Church with Bro. Bruce Campbell, Bro. Joey Bowman, Bro. Kevin Brooks and Bro. Kevin Ratcliff officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill #1 Cemetery.
Mr. Young will Lie-in-Sate at the church from 10:00am-11:00am. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Young was born in Alabama on August 4, 1938 to Clyde & Ozzie Brown Young. He was the founder of Young Motors in Boaz.
Mr. Young is survived by his Sons & Daughters-in-Law: Ricky & Phylis Young of Boaz, Mike & Ginger Young of Gadsden. Grandchildren: Brooke Young Bishop & Dennis, Meghan Young, Blake Young & Jaycee, Austin Young. Great Grandchildren: Drake Bishop, Sophie Bishop, Ella Brooke Callaway. Sister & Brother-in-Law: Joyce & Gene Hines of Gadsden.
Pallbearers will be Blake Young, Austin Young, Drake Bishop, Dennis Bishop, Phillip Alexander, Chad Kilpatrick, Shane Johnson, Brian Pullen.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Hines, Shane Haygood, Joseph Jarmon, Jimmy Kinney, Craig Waldrep, Mike Fielder, Mark Springfield, Jason Cahela, Mike Ballentine, Jeff Crutchfield, James Stokes.
Mr. Young was preceded in death by his Parents: Clyde & Ozzie Young. Wife: Rita Gail Young.
Family will accept flowers or donations to Shepherd’s Cove Hospice.
