Blake M. Fritz, 87, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on June 21, 2025, at the Country Club Retirement Center. He was born on October 19, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Lester and Alice Fritz.
Blake proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 21 years, achieving the rank of Warrant Officer. His service spanned from 1955 to 1977. Following his military career, Blake remained deeply involved in his community. He was a dedicated supporter of the Ohio Junior Miss Pageant and, alongside his beloved wife Chloris, volunteered for many years at Mount Vernon High School.
Blake is survived by his sons, Thomas E. Fritz, Gregory Fritz, and Michael Fritz; grandchildren, Virginia Miller and Christopher Porter; and one great-grandson, Matthew Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Chloris.
Friends may call on Tuesday, July 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors provided by the Knox County Veterans Council will take place at Mound View Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Blake and Chloris Fritz Scholarship Foundation at the Knox County Foundation P.O Box 309 Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
