Blake Glover

Blake McClindon Glover passed away unexpectedly at his home on September 25, 2025.

Blake was born on February 4, 1981, to Kent and Kit Glover of Mokane, MO. He attended South Callaway R-II schools, graduating in 1999. In high school, he most enjoyed performing in musical theatre productions, going on to study vocal music at the University of Missouri in Columbia before moving to New York City where he began working in the hospitality industry at an upper Manhattan eatery. Covid forced Blake to return home where he continued his career as a food and beverage manager.

Blake loved cooking, entertaining, and being with family and friends. He delighted in introducing his nieces to the spectacle of NYC and their first Broadway theatre experiences. He especially enjoyed playing trivia and all things Jeopardy.

Blake is survived by his parents Kent and Kit (Johnson) Glover of Mokane, MO; his brother Joshua Glover and sister-in-law Amy (Kettle) Glover, nieces Nola Shawn Glover and Jess Johnson Glover of Hams Prairie, MO; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Blake was especially close to his cousins Amanda (Groner) Long of Hams Prairie, MO; Kate Smart of Altura, Portugal; Jessica Tarnish of New York City, NY; Roz Hakimi of Columbia, MO; and Beth Hunter of Columbia, MO.

Blake was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Martin and Sylvia Glover of Mokane, MO; maternal grandparents Gene and Salle Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah and Fulton, MO respectively; and cousin Sarah (Groner) Gordon of Hams Prairie, MO.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, Oct. 5 at Sycamore restaurant, 800 E. Broadway, Columbia, MO, from 6-9 p.m.
