Blanche "Leota" Park, age 86 of Mount Gilead, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Kobacker House in Columbus, surrounded by her loved ones.
Leota was born in Fredericktown, OH to Alfred and Vivian (Ebersole) Morris on May 29, 1939. She attended Fredericktown High School and graduated in 1958.
Leota loved her family fiercely and found her greatest joy in being surrounded by them. She was at the heart of every gathering-always ready with a hug, a kind word, and a sparkle in her eye. Her sweetness and generosity made everyone feel like family.
Dance was her lifelong passion. Leota began dance as a student and through hard work, dedication, and her love of dance she owned and operated Leota's Dance Studio for 40 years, most of which in Morrow County. She taught hundreds of students the gift of dance, she shared her light through movement, laughter, and love.
Her legacy lives on in the countless lives touched-through her family, students, and all that were blessed to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and memories shared will continue to dance in our hearts forever.
Leota is survived by her husband, Harlan L. Park; daughter, Tonya (Jon) Mason; stepchildren: Tina Park and Amiee Ray; grandchildren: Kayla (Cody) Morr, Trent (Kaitlyn) Mason, Alex (Nina) Mason, Leah Mason, Calistia Preece, Cameron Monroe and Kiki Park; great-grandchildren: Lydia, Westin, Elaine, Cirus, Ezekiel, Jakari, and Kaliyah; and sister, Ann Ullman; and sister-in-law, Linda Morris.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Tom Park; her parents, Alfred and Vivian Morris; son, Todd Park; brother, Duane Morris; brother-in-law, Larry Ullman; and niece Dawn Malburg.
Leota's family will greet friends on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 12-2 PM at Snyder Funeral Homes, Mount Gilead Chapel, 67 N Main Street, with a memorial service beginning at 2 PM, officiated by Bob Burnett. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
