Blanche Marie Tipton

Blanche Marie Baker Tipton, 89 of Bradenton, Florida, passed away July 12, 2025 at her home in Bradenton, surrounded by her children. Blanche was born March 12,1936 in Sewellsville, Ohio to the late Dexter and Zelma (Butler) Baker.

She was preceded in death by her husband John following 68 years of marriage. Also preceding were sisters Phyllis Barrett, Ruth Scott and Freda Gingery and brothers "Junior" Dexter Baker Jr., and Donnie Baker. She is survived by 3 daughters, Janet Morris of Florida, Bev (Rich) Lyons of Cambridge, Ohio, and Pat Tipton of Florida; 2 sons, Ron (Cindy) Tipton of Piedmont, Ohio and John (Melinda) Tipton of Florida; along with 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 great- great grandchildren. She has 4 surviving sisters, Ginny Armstrong, Gladys Smith, Shirley Carpenter and Sarah Cline all of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Blanche loved her family and the Lord. Reading or listening to books on tape was her favorite pastime. She worked retail for many years after moving to Florida, retiring from the JCPenney company.

We invite you to reminisce, share prayers and condolences during visitation to be held at Wilson Funeral Home – Barnesville Chapel, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville on Saturday, July 19 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., followed by words and prayer reflecting her Christian faith. Graveside service and burial will follow at Sewellsville Cemetery.

My Destiny
Death truly is no friend of man
Clothed in dark robes of mystery
Still I fear not that grasping hand
Death has no grave that can hold me
This mortal flesh perhaps I'll give
To lie with death in some dark hole
Yet in triumph shall I live
You may bury my body, but not my soul
Nor weep for me by marble stone
With chiseled words of final rest
Leave, leave the dust reclaim my bones
I dine in splendor midst heaven's best
Look up yon at silver lining
Where mortal feet have never tread
Find me there in peace reclining
Look not for me among the dead
