Robert “Bob” Ryan Schrock and Lori Ann Girard Schrock of Annapolis, Maryland and Kiowa, Kansas passed away together in a plane accident on January 29, 2025. Bob and Lori Schrock were the loving parents of Ellie Schrock.

Bob was born on April 8th, in Kiowa, Kansas. Although Bob is widely known for his successful and progressive farming techniques, he could very often be found at the beach, his happy place. Ocean-related activities, particularly stand-up paddle boarding and scuba diving, prompted an exuberant joy for life and adventure in Bob. This was infectious to his family and his friends, much like his steadfast faith. He will be greatly missed in many gyms, dirt bike courses, farms, churches, lagoons, and oceans across the country.

Lori was born on November 2nd, in Topeka, Kansas. She received her degree/s from Wichita State University in Accounting, English, and Linguistics. Lori enjoyed using her unique skill set to creatively tackle a wide range of business ventures and enjoyed the challenge. She was very involved in the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Kiowa, KS. Lori celebrated those around her and brought humor and joy to those around them. She inspired a beautiful community full of laughter, love, and faith which was readily and generously shared with people in every place they lived and on every adventure they took. Her generous soul was prone to a lightheartedness that made people feel welcomed and loved. She took great satisfaction in her double-unders and toes-to-bar and enjoyed sharing her zest for life with others.

Bob and Lori were married in December 1988 and built a wonderful life together. They worked as a team to transform their family farm into a thriving innovative agriculture business. They enjoyed watching James Bond, going on beach runs, various exercise activities, good meals, and even better conversation. They ran marathons, but not together, as that was the key to a happy marriage along with not using a double kayak. Both Bob and Lori shared a thirst for adventure and joy in Christ that they spread from Kiowa, to Hawaii, to Florida, to Annapolis and each and every place they visited. Their greatest joy was their daughter Ellie.

Bob Schrock is survived by his mother Kathleen Schrock of Tyler, TX and his sister Jo and her husband Mike Pile of Tyler, TX. Lori Schrock is the daughter of the late Marcia Girard and is survived by her father Bernard Girard of Manhattan, KS, Lori is survived by her sister Stephanie and Stephanie’s husband David May of Shawnee, KS and brother Steven Girard and his wife Blanka Girard of Ann Arbor, MI. Bob and Lori were instrumental figures in the lives of their surviving nieces and nephews; Austin and his wife Laura Pile of Arroyo Grande, CA, Andrea May of Lenexa, KS, Quintin and his wife Molly Pile of Greenville, SC, Lindsay and her husband Andrew McKittrick of Salt Lake City, UT, Rachel Girard of Providence, Rhode Island, Patrick Girard of Boulder, CO, and Sister Mary Solanus May, FGSM of Alton, IL. They enjoyed their new role with great nephews Drew, Wayne, and Bennett Pile. They are preceded in death by William “Bill” Schrock, father of Bob, Marcia Girard mother of Lori, and their nephew Zachary May.
