Bob Florida

Jacob Robert "Bob" Florida, Jr, 88, of Madisonville, KY was called home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehab in Madisonville.

He was born on December 21, 1937, in Lascassas, Tennessee, to the late J. R. Florida, Sr. and Martha Jennings Florida Allen.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Faye Givens Florida; one son Jake (Rhonda) Florida of Madisonville; three grandchildren, Rob (Suzette) Florida of North Port Florida, Jon Florida of Westport, Maine, and Jessica Collins of Springfield, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Jack Florida, Emma Florida, Allison Florida, and Knox Fuqua; and several cousins and close friends whom he loved as family.

He was an active member of First Baptist Church, Madisonville, who spent his life sharing the love of the Lord earning him the title of Deacon Emeritus.

Bob was a respected businessman in town owning Madisonville Auto Parts and being active in several other business ventures. Known for his kind demeanor and generous spirit, Bob was always the first to offer help to anyone in need. He will be sorely missed by those that have had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 246 N. Main St., Madisonville KY, with Pastor Bill Bursztynski officiating. Burial to follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville.

Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Rob Florida, Jon Florida, Jack Florida, Knox Fuqua, Mark Erickson and Jeff Reeves.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to First Baptist Church Steeple Fund, 246 N. Main St., Madisonville KY 42431, in memory of Bob Florida.
