Bob dedicated many years to serving others through his Love for his Country, having served in the United States Army from 1963 to 1969, during the Vietnam war. Following his military service, Bob worked at the Ford Motor Company for many years. He continued his service to the community with his work in law enforcement, where he notably served as a Patrolman for the City of Potosi Police Department and as a deputy sheriff of Washington County, serving and protecting his community until retirement. His commitment to justice and public safety was a testament to his character and determination to make a positive impact on the lives of those around him.

On September 4, 2004, Bob was united in marriage to Julie (Declue) Jost. Together, they happily shared 20 years filled with love and companionship. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Julie Jost, three stepchildren, Stephanie Canales, Michael Canales, and Peter Canales, and three step grandchildren, Marcus Canales, Abbigail Canales, and Samantha Hunt.     Bob's personality was as warm as his smile. He was known for being hardworking, dedicated, and always available to lend a helping hand. He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities such as fishing and riding motorcycles, and he took pleasure in caring for his home. A faithful member of St. James Catholic Church. Bob will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, service, and devotion that will not be forgotten.
