William Lewis “Bill” DeClue of Blackwell, MO. was born on October 21, 1944 in Shirley, MO. to the late Alex DeClue and Lena (Boyer) DeClue. Bill peacefully departed this life on August 23, 2025 at 80 years of age.
Bill grew up in St. Louis, MO and graduated from McKinley high school in 1962. He went on to be a plating specialist for 41 years at The Missouri Plating Company in St. Louis. After retirement, he relocated permanently to his property in Blackwell. He was well known and respected by many. He enjoyed watching movies, dining in at a variety of restaurants, spending time with his family and friends, and staying active. He had four children, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren all of which he loved and adored. He’s been a dedicated member of the St. Stephen’s Parish in Richwoods, actively serving by assisting with the passing of communion and preparing the event hall. In addition to his church life, his most recent years were spent with his long-time girlfriend, Patty, traveling, and catching up with family. Bill’s witty personality, lighthearted humor, positive attitude, and genuine soul will be remembered by all that knew him.
He leaves many relatives and friends to cherish his memories including significant other Patty of Richwoods; his three children, William “Billy Joe” DeClue and husband Christopher Rasmussen of Wentzville, Jeffery DeClue of Desoto, and Amy DeClue of Potosi. Additionally, his step-children Ron Moore and James Moore. Nine grandchildren: Andrew DeClue, Megan Breeding, Matthew DeClue and wife Meredith, Zachary DeClue, Caleb DeClue, Dallas Wilkinson, Chase Wilkinson, Kenzie Wilkinson, and Kallie DeClue. Three step-grandchildren: Jane, Seth, and Patrick Rasmussen. Five great grandchildren: Hayley DeClue, Hadley DeClue, Hayden DeClue, River Eggemeyer, and Georgia Eggemeyer. Two sisters: Virginia “Sissy” Hurley and husband Sonny, and Cindy (DeClue) Newman.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Arlena (DeClue) Breeding. Additionally, by seven brothers and one sister: Charles “Bud” DeClue, Robert “Bob” DeClue, David DeClue, Nelson DeClue, Arthur DeClue, Earl DeClue, Donald “Sonny” DeClue and Florence (DeClue) Tomes.
