Rev. Bob Widner, age 78, of New Tazewell passed away November 12, 2025, at the Morristown Hamblen Hospital. Bob was born August 12, 1947, to Edgar and Isabel Poore Widner who precede him in death. He professed faith at an early age and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and had been a farmer.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Isabel Widner, brothers Paul Widner and wife Betty, Wade Widner and Parlon Widner. Sisters Mary Lou Smith and husband Claude, Myrtle Noah and husband Rev Gene Noah, Mabel Widner and husband J.T.
He is survived by his wife Pat Widner, children Sandy Buchanan and husband Johnny, Tim Widner and wife Donna and Bobby Widner. Grandchildren John Buchanan and wife Tara, Jessica Daniels and husband Allen, Shiann Jones and husband Matt, Anna Lester and husband Joseph. Great grandchildren Allie and Eli Buchanan and Neveah and Callie Jones. Brother Rev. Charlie Widner and wife Mary, sisters-in-law Betty Jo Essary and Audrey Widner. Several Nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday November 16, 2025, from 5:00pm till 7:00pm in the Claiborne ~ Overholt Funeral Home Chapel with funeral service to follow at 7:00pm with the Rev. Tommy Louthan and Rev. Edward Carman officiating. Music will be provided by Diane Lay. Burial will be on Monday November 16, 2025, at 10:00am in the Bob Widner Family Cemetery.
