Bobbi Jean Virta

Rev. Bobbi Jean (Craig) Virta, 64, of Ferndale, WA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, February 12th 2023. Our beloved matriarch, Bobbi was cherished by her family, friends, and community. A social justice advocate, faith leader, and artist. She exuded grace, kindness, wisdom, and generosity. She served the United Church of Christ for over 32 years first as Christian Education Coordinator and later as an ordained minister. She was fiercely courageous, thoughtful, curious, passionate, dedicated, and unconditionally loving. Bobbi was a Veriditas certified Advanced Labyrinth Facilitator, a certified Spiritual Director and Zentangle Teacher. Her leadership in the community will be sorely missed. Bobbi is survived by her loving husband, Pasi, of nearly 43 years, her son Mikael, his wife Michelle, their child Anders, her daughter Melissa, her Husband Sam, their two children Benjamin and Henry, and her son Markus and his fianc? Emily. Her circle of love reached far and wide and included her extended family, chosen family, beloved friends, colleagues, and faith community. Bobbi's happy places were hiking, beach walking, birding, and making art, though she was happiest when she was with her grandchildren. A memorial service and celebration of life is scheduled for 4pm Saturday February 18th at the First Congregational Church of Bellingham. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services (DVSAS) and/or The Interfaith Coalition of Whatcom County.
