Bobbie Jean (Garner) Mitchell, 78, of Lubbock Texas, she passed into the arms of our God on January 12, 2025. Bobbie was born May 1, 1946, the daughter of L.B. Garner and Classie Lee (Fortune) Garner.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Harkey Funeral Home from 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Faith Walkers Ministry in Monahans, Tx at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
Bobbie attended Lubbock Public Schools in her youth. Later she married and borne four children. She also worked for the Lubbock School District for several years.
Bobby began attending local church, Christ Temple Church of God in Christ where she was saved. Her life from that moment became one of dedication and service to the Lord. She learned the teachings of God and she continued to press her way and answer the call of God of an Evangelist Missionary. Bobbie was passionate in sharing the love of God with others. Later, in her new capacity and willingness to use her gifts and talents. The Lord moved her to serve in the up building of the Kingdom, at Hope Deliverance Temple. A loyal servant of God, Bobbie demonstrated in being a woman of strength, unshakeable, and unmovable in her faith. She absolutely loved singing praises to God and praying. Bobbie held on to her faith and belief desiring one day to sit at the feet of Jesus.
She was loving, forgiving, caring, had a beautiful heart, and a beautiful smile. She loved her family, and really enjoyed spending time with them. She loved to laugh, and to have fun, loved listening to music, reading, writing, and collecting and trying new recipes. Believe it or not she loved cars and once wanted to be a mechanic when she was a young girl.
Remaining to cherish Bobbie’s memory are her children, son, Melton Mitchell (Tangy) of Monahans, TX, daughter, Victoria White (Marvin) of Bedford, TX, and daughter, April Mitchell of Lubbock, TX. 12 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild. Three brothers, Lawrence Garner, and Vernon Garner of Lubbock, TX, and Clarence Garner of Houston, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family members, friends, and brothers and sister in the body of Christ.
Preceding Bobbie in death are her father, L.B. Garner, loving mother, Classie Lee Garner and eldest son, O’dell Mitchell III; two sisters, Gladine Garner and Sharlett Garner.
Pallbearers are as follows: Ty Mitchell, Jerry Rutherford, Russell Covington Jr., Sha Barnes, Tywe Banks, Tyllar Altman.
