Bobbie Shaw

Bobbie Lee Cox Shaw, 87, of High Point, NC, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away while in the care of Hospice of the Piedmont, January 13, 2025.
Bobbie, the daughter of Curtis Edward Cox and Margaret Louise Greene, was born on November 7, 1937 in Cabarrus County. She grew up at The Children's Home on Reynolda Road in Winston-Salem where she excelled on their sports teams, including basketball, softball, and cheerleading. She was also a glee club member and played piano very well. She graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School in 1956.
She was an executive/administrative assistant in the furniture industry. Her favorite job and one she was most proud of was being named Executive Director of the National Wholesale Furniture Association in 1984. She was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church and former long-time member of First United Methodist Church.
Bobbie enjoyed playing piano, dancing, gardening, cooking, and arts and crafts (especially painting her wooden Christmas ornaments!). But above all, she loved her family! She was known for her kindness, generosity and warmth. Her smile was as beautiful as her heart!
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Renee' Shaw of High Point. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Margaret; former husband and good friend, H. Frank Shaw; son, Michael Franklin Shaw; brother, Curtis Cox; sisters Ruth Greene Puckett and Dorothy Cox Young. She was also preceded by her loving maternal grandparents, Carl and Elsie Greene, who were a very important and special part of her life.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2025, in the Chapel of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, 1225 Chestnut Dr. High Point. Visitation following.
