Bobby H. Butler, age 92, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, in Lexington, Tennessee. He is survived by his daughter, Pamelia Butler Tolley (Marty); two grandchildren, Crystal Tolley Bowman (Michael Newsom) and Mark Tolley (Lindsay); 9 great grandchildren, Camryn Bowman, Duke Tolley, Kaylan Tolley, Jessyln Wattenburger, Avery Newsom, Enzley Newsom, Fowler Newsom, Derek Bowman, and Billy Bowman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Paul Butler; his wife, Freda Butler; one son, Mark Butler; two brothers, Jack Butler and Joe Butler; 4 sisters, Mary Jones, Alma Browder, Margie Cherry, and Virginia Utley.

In 1951 Bobby graduated from Chester County High School and began work at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Peoria, IL. In 1952 he married Freda Garner and they lived in Peoria, IL until he was drafted into the US Army. He and Freda spent 2 years in Augusta, Ga. While he attended the Southeast Signal School. On completion of completion of his schooling, he remained in August, Gordon as an instructor until discharge in 1955. He began his career with Southern Bell Telephone Company shortly after. He began work in Dyersburg, TN before being transferred to Lexington, where he worked until 1973, He then transferred to Jackson, TN as a supervisor in installing equipment. He retired from the telephone company in 1987.

Mr. Bobby served as School Board Member for the 5th district from August 1962-1974. He served as the one and only County Wide Magistrate from 1974-1980. From 1976- 1978 he was the 72nd District State Representative. He was also Henderson County Sheriff from August of 1988-1990.

After retiring from the farm in1993, Bobby moved to Lexington where he helped care for his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, October 19 at 2PM at Reeds Chapel. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10AM-9PM and Sunday from 10AM until service.
