Bobby L. Curington

Bobby L. Curington, Sr (Bob) - age 76 of Seymour, TN, left his earthly home and entered his Heavenly rest on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Bob retired from TVA before going back to the University of Tennessee Facilities Services Department and retiring from there in 2014. He was an avid collector of birds over the years. He loved to sit and watch them along with one of his other favorite pastimes in retirement, watching the deer play on the home property. He loved children, animals, and cutting up with friends. Most important to him though was his family, and just enjoying time together and the blessings in life that God had bestowed on him. He came to know Christ as his Savior as an adult and was a member of Seymour First Baptist Church.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson Cecil and Annie Henderlight Curington; sisters, Gladys, Marie, and Macie; and brothers, J.L., Alvin, and Leon.
He is survived by the love of his life of 51+ years (married 1997), Monia Sue "Susie" Davis, who cared for him tirelessly for 16 of those years as his body began a steady progressive decline with multiple significant illnesses; his sons, Bobby Lee, Jr. (Michelle) and Kevin (Angie) Curington; daughter, Michelle Swaney (Keith); eight (8) grandsons, who were the joy and light of his life, Justin and Derek Curington, Jared (Taylor) and Samuel (Jordan) Swaney, David (Beth) and Ryan (Briana) Curington, and Jerry (Cheyenne) and Brandon Curington; and special sisters-in-law, Lynda Archer and Gladys Archer. His daughter, Michelle, walked beside him every step of the way on his last journeys here on earth along with his grandsons, Samuel and Jared, and their wives who also supported and took care of him every step of the way.
The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Seymour First Baptist with funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm officiated by Bob Schultz, Minister to Senior Adults at Seymour First Baptist, and Chad Ogle, Sevier County Commissioner.
