Bobby Charles "Buck" Hobbs, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma was just shy of his 90th birthday when he passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Buck was born on October 13, 1935, in Picher, Oklahoma to William and Flora (Crites) Hobbs. He grew up in Commerce and South Coffeyville and attended school in Lenapah. He proudly served in the United State Army for 2 ½ years and was stationed in Germany during some of his service. On August 29, 1956, he was united in marriage to Vera Nadine Burtrum in Dearing, Kansas. From their union two children, Bonnie Jean "Jeannie" and Anthony "Tony" Charles were born. Buck was hardworking, dedicated and reliable. He worked for Union Gas System for over 41 years; he held secondary employment with Christmore's Used Cars for over 20 years and Mid-Am Pilot Car Service for over 10 years. He attended church at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville. He was a huge OU Sooners fan, enjoyed playing music with the guys and for several years he enjoyed woodworking.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his daughter, Bonnie Jean "Jeannie" Harrington and husband, Jimmy; three grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Mehl; and his dog, Simmons along with numerous extended family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Flora Hobbs; wife, Vera Hobbs; wife, Linda Hobbs; son, Anthony Charles "Tony" Hobbs; brothers, Billy Hobbs, Ted Hobbs, Jay Hobbs, Robert DeWulf, Albert Weathers and Jack Weathers; sisters, Alzada McKnight, Lula Dozier, Mary Bishop, Ruby Jackson, June France, Betty Jo DeWulf and his cha-weenie dog, Sid-Vicious.
