A visitation for Bobby McCowin will be held from 11:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M., Monday, June 9th, 2025, at Mulhearn Funeral Home on US 165 N in Monroe, LA. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. in the Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery.
Bobby was born on June 6th, 1953, and returned to his heavenly father on June 5, 2025. He was a wonderful man that touched the lives of so many people throughout his lifetime. Like his father, he always had a great story to tell for every situation with great perspectives. He loved the outdoors and working the land in his earlier years as a farmer. He was a simple, southern man that God seen a broader stage for his talents and larger than life personality to be upon. Later in life, he began working as a Foreman for shutdowns with his son, Blake, and met so many friends during this endeavor. Some would say they met strangers or acquaintances during a journey as this such but to Bobby, they were just friends waiting to make contact with. During this time of his life, many he met will succinctly state and recollect the morals, values and work ethic he promoted and taught to so many.
One special thing to mention was his unmatched love for children. Whether they be a child, grandchild or someone that wandered into his life from anywhere, he was one that would spend time with them, lay quality foundations of life and outright spoil them if given the opportunity. As the Gospel of Matthew talks of Jesus’ love for children, none could exemplify that aspect greater than Bobby.
Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved father, Robert Edward McCowin. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Rita McCowin; mother, Myrtle McCowin; children, Stacey Cordell (Stephen), Ashley Fesette (Kyle), Blake McCowin (Teah); grandchildren, Gage Fesette (Logan), Cailey Chase (Levi), Addison Phillips (Jo), Teegan Fesette, Kaylen McCowin, Amelia McCowin, Joshua McCowin and Cutter McCowin; and one great-grandchild, Emyrsyn Grace Pelto.
Pallbearers will be Mike Thompson, Kyle Fesette, Gage Fesette, Perry Thompson, Terry Thompson, Bubba Wilson, and Curtis Forbes.
Honored as alternate pallbearers are Stephen Cordell, Levi Chase, and Jo Pelto.
