Bobby grew up in Wilmington, NC graduating from Hoggard High School in 1980. Following graduation, he was awarded a competitive full scholarship to Montreat Anderson Jr. College in Montreat, NC. He graduated from the Department of Radio, Television, and Motion Pictures at UNC Chapel Hill in 1984.
Bobby began his career in television working for the CBS affiliate station in Wilmington, NC. and later the Fox affiliate in Raleigh, NC before transitioning to marketing for PHE, Inc where he recently retired after over 30 years as a Marketing Developer.
Bobby liked to spend his free time taking care of his large yard and spending long weekends camping with his twin brother at the beach. He enjoyed attending shows at DPAC with his partner of 33 years Brian Cook. His favorite holiday was Christmas, and his bright holiday tree was the talk of the neighborhood. Bobby researched and designed a large exterior deck above his existing carport where he would spend evenings relaxing with his partner. Bobby was also proud of the "man cave" he created in his large basement, a place he could often be found. Bobby is remembered for his big heart and willingness to help those in need.
Mr. Stone is survived by his partner, Brian Cook; brother, Robbie Stone (Phillip Montemayor); sister, Condalette Stone Artero; his three nieces Alexandria, Kaitlyn, Trinity Artero, a nephew Anthony Stone Jr. and aunts Shirley Phillips and Peggy Arnold. He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother Anthony Stone and brother-in-law Matthew Artero.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
