Bobby was the middle son of Roy O. Williams and Kathleen Hardee Williams, and was born in Greenville, NC on April 21, 1945.
Bobby was first and foremost a loving husband to Anne Hill Williams. They were married on October 11, 1963. He was an ordained minister with the International Pentecostal Holiness Church for 64 years. During his time as a minister, he pastored the Washington PH Church, Robersonville PH Church, Red Springs PH Church, Roper PH Church, New Bern First PH Church, Shelmerdine PH Church, Kinston First PH Church, and served as interim Pastor for several other churches including, St. Paul PH Church. In his role with the IPHC he served in many leadership roles including, being a member of the Conference Executive Board, President of the youth ministries of the conference, and Director for Disaster Relief USA for the NC Conference.
As well as being in full time ministry, Bobby also was, at times, bi-vocational holding professional positions as a social worker with the state of NC, as well as being a financial counselor and business office manager for Pitt Memorial Hospital. During his 10th grade year in high school, he attended the school of Math and Science at the University of NC at Chapel Hill. He also declined an appointment to the Air Force Academy to go into full time ministry. He held an Associate's degree from Emmanual College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Carolina University.
In his leisure time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. Though these were his hobbies, he obtained leadership roles in these fields as well. He was the President of the Eastern NC Fox Hunters Association and was recently inducted into the American Rabbit Hunters Association Hall of Fame for Beaglers. During his time hunting and fishing, he made many lifetime friends that were as close to him as his family.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Roy O. Williams, mother Kathleen Hardee Williams, brother, James Waylon Williams, and very close cousin, Donnie Hardee, Sr.
Left to carry on the memory of Bobby are his beloved wife Anne Hill Williams, daughter Tyanne Forbes and husband Randy, son John J. Williams and wife April Williams, granddaughters Lyla Anne Williams and Ava Katherine Williams who he loved dearly. Brothers Ormond Williams, wife Peggy, brother Lindsay Williams, wife Barbara, and brother Terry Williams and wife Carolyn. As well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Bobby never met a stranger, and he called everyone he met his friend. His life was specially made happier when Lyla Anne and Ava Katherine were born. No grandpa ever loved their grandchildren as Papa Williams loved his.
