Bodie Jiles

Bodie Jiles, age 51, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2025. Born on December 15, 1973, in Tucson, Arizona, he was a man whose warmth and generous spirit touched all who knew him.
Bodie was a 1992 graduate of Penn High School and later earned his Associates degree in Mechanics from Ivy Tech Community College. He was a jack of all trades. From his earlier years working for AT&T, Mittler Gas, and Comcast to becoming a mechanic for the City of South Bend, where his skills and work ethic were highly valued.
He is survived by a loving family: his mother, Julie (Zemialkowski) Nichols; his grandmother, Betty Zemialkowski; his brother, Brady (Jocelyn) Stroup; his beloved children, Raymond Jiles, Beau Jiles, Breeanna (Hannah) Sheline Dokey, Allysa (Shawn) Ashley, Elijah Jiles, Eloise Jiles; his dear grandchildren, Maysen, Bonnie, and Johnathen; and his second wife, Shawnie Rutherford, with whom he shared 2 small children and a very special bond even after their 10 years of marriage ended;. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Tina Newgent; and his father, Chance Jiles.
Bodie's love for life was evident in his many passions. He was a proud member of the Devils Diciples Motorcycle Club, and found great joy in the camaraderie and open roads that came with it. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished moments spent camping and sharing his love for nature with others. Bodie's spirit of adventure was not only confined to the outdoors; he also enjoyed cooking for those he loved, always being creative in the kitchen. His German shepherds, Sidney and Sammy, were his constant companions and provided him tremendous comfort and happiness.
Bodie's strength, kindness, and infectious laugh will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to have crossed his path. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life lived to the fullest. Bodie Jiles will be deeply missed, but his spirited presence will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and again from 2-4 p.m. Services will begin at 4 p.m. all being held at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN 46545. Pastor Bob Vale will officiate the services.
