It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bonnie Jean Brown Glass of
Covington, Tennessee, at the age of 91. She passed over peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 23, 2025. She was born on September 13, 1933 to Lillian Madeline Hardin Brown and James Robert Brown of
Covington, Tennessee. She was a native and resident of the Gift/Cotton Lake communities in Tipton County. Bonnie shared 45 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Lawrence Lindsey Glass, with whom she had two daughters: Karen Rebecca Glass Wall and Kristie Leigh Glass Maxwell.
She was known for her strong will, quick wit, unwavering determination, love and constant support that she showed her family, friends, neighbors, and community. Bonnie was a devout church member of the Covington church of Christ. At the age of 91, she was the oldest living member of the church. She spent most of her adulthood taking care of people that she loved. In addition to being a homemaker and caretaker of the family, she also was the bookkeeper of Glass Brothers Service Station and helped her husband, Lawrence run their successful business of 42 years. After her husband, Lawrence, passed away in 2004, she spent her time traveling, giving back to the community, and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was known to so many as "B" which represented a beacon of kindness, strength, and love that will forever reside in the hearts of so many. Her legacy will continue to inspire and guide us through the days ahead. As we grapple with the loss of her physical presence, we find solace in knowing that her spirit will continue to live on forever in heaven and in our hearts. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Madeline and James Brown; her husband, Lawrence Glass; her brothers, Eddie and Johnny Brown; and her sister, Fay Brown Horner.
She is survived by her daughters; Karen Glass Wall (Terry) and Kristie Glass Maxwell. 5 grandchildren; Logan Ross Wall (Lauren), Ellie Wall Hoffman (Heath), Kacy Jo Maxwell, Chelsea Renee Maxwell (Dabney), and Lawson Brown Maxwell. 7 Great Grandchildren: John Oliver Wall, Maddon Ross Wall, Kirby Thomas Wall, Chesley Lawrence Hoffman, Kip Elliott Hoffman, Rowan Priscilla Maxwell, and Beckett Davis Maxwell, and one brother, Bobby Brown (Louise).The family is very appreciative to her niece, Charlotte and her husband Steve Newman who kept a watchful eye and lent a helpful hand on many occasions as her next door neighbors. They also want to show their immense appreciation to her incredible caregivers, who became like an extension of her family and a true blessing in her life. Lisa Hadley, Renee Eubanks, Rachelle Elkins, and Bertha McLeod were essential in providing her with her daily Sonic trips and ensuring that she was taken care of around the clock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the Covington church of Christ, or the Carl Perkins Center.
Funeral Services details are as followed: Visitation on February 25th from 11:00am-2:00pm with services being held at 2:00pm, all at Maley-Yarbrough Funeral Home. The burial will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens following the services.
