In the immortal words of Dr. Seuss, "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." We extend this sentiment as we celebrate the vibrant life of Bonnie Mae Reese, also known as "Bon Bon" or "Bonita" to those who loved her most. Born on a sunny day in San Diego on August 26, 1955, Bonnie lived a life that was as sunny and bright as her birthplace. She swapped the sunny beaches of California for the tranquil landscapes of Plain City, Utah, where she lived for 16 years and became a beloved fixture in the community. Never one to let life get her down, Bonnie was a beacon of light in a world that can often seem a bit too serious. She was the living embodiment of the phrase, "laughter is the best medicine." Bonnie was a woman who, despite never being officially employed, worked tirelessly as the CEO, CFO, and COO of Keeping The Family Together, Inc. Her dedication to her family was unmatched, and she was often found surprising them not only with what they needed but also with what they wanted. In the words of Mark Twain, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started," and Bonnie got started early. She took on the role of mother hen to her siblings, raising them with the same dedication she brought to every aspect of her life. She was a glue, a binding agent, reminding everyone to stick together, stay in touch, and above all, to send those darn greeting cards. Survived by her sister Burnadette Reyes, Bonnie was preceded in death by her father, James Bailey, her mother, Burnadene Relaford, and her devoted spouse, Richard Reese Sr. Even as we say goodbye to our beloved Bonnie, we do so with the laughter and light she brought to our lives. So, let's not cry because it's over but laugh because it happened, and boy, did it happen wonderfully. We encourage everyone who knew and loved Bonnie to share their memories and upload their favorite pictures to her memorial page. Let's celebrate Bonnie, not with tears, but with the laughter and joy she would want us to remember her by.
