Bonnie was born on April 28, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, to George and Mary Thompson. As a young child, she moved with her family to Westminster, California, where she grew up surrounded by sunshine and family. Her life was a winding path, filled with joys, trials, and meaningful moments that shaped her into the woman so many came to love. With God’s strength and grace, she navigated life’s challenges, always holding fast to her faith. Later in life, she moved to Michigan to be closer to her daughter, embracing this new chapter with love and resilience.
Bonnie found great joy in cooking and lovingly writing down her favorite recipes to share with others. She was known for her kindness, her quiet strength, and her deep compassion. A strong Christian woman, Bonnie lived out her faith daily through her unwavering care for those around her.
She will be remembered for the love she gave freely, the warmth she brought into every friendship, and the legacy of faith, family, and kindness she leaves behind. Though we grieve her passing, we find comfort in knowing that she is at peace in the arms of her Savior.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul...” — Psalm 23
Bonnie is survived by; her children, Andrea (Dave) McDonald and Michael (Shelby) Gund; grandchildren, Trevor (Kayla) McDonald, Bret McDonald, Darius Ott, James Gund, Cora Gund, Brielle Gund; great-grandchild: Michael McDonald.
