Margaret E. Badour, age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 24, 2025 at the Bay Medical Care Facility. The daughter of the late Avon and Patricia (Mahoney) Gough, she was born on March 2, 1943 in Saginaw. Margaret was a very caring person, and this led to her career path in nursing. She was an LPN, working at the former Mercy Hospital in Bay City, in the safety department at the former Vlasic Pickle Factory in Bridgeport, and then at the Bay Medical Care Facility, retiring from there some years later. Margaret also used her nursing skills as a volunteer with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the local Weight Watchers groups. She enjoyed crafting and made the most beautiful Afghan blankets, dish cloths, and hats. Margaret had always wanted to further her education, especially psychology and self-help, and has always been a very avid reader. She touched the lives of everyone she met, most often even strangers, with kindness and generosity. Margaret always desired to make everyone's day better and brighter.
On November 30, 1990 Margaret was united in marriage to James J. Badour at St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and they moved to Sebring, Florida. There they enjoyed puttering around the yard, traveling and hosting family and friends in the Florida sunshine. As they grew older, they moved back to Essexville to be closer to their families. Sadly, Jim preceded Margaret in death on January 25, 2022.
Margaret is survived by her son, Frank (Nichole) Morzinski of Potterville, MI; step-children, Donald (Marla) of Manton, Jonathan (Sandie) of Hillman, James P. (Sherry) of Essexville and JoAnne Badour of Bay City, her grandchildren, Andrew, Alex and Brandon Morzinski, Kyle, Brandon, Ryan, Justin and Evan Badour and Alyssa, Heather and Trisha Blossey; great grandchildren, Landon, Nolan, Carter, Owen, Jolon, Cole and Alexandria; two sisters-in-law, Jane Prast of Freeland and Gail Gough of Essexville; and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was also preceded in death by a stepson, Alexander Badour; a daughter-in-law, Colleen Hugo-Badour; her brother, William Gough; and a brother-in-law, Charles Prast.
The family is grateful for the compassionate hearts and gentle care provided by New Hope Bay Assisted Living and the Bay Medical Care Facility through Margaret's final years of life.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Trahan Funeral Chapel with Mr. EJ Brown officiating. Private interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday, December 12th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. The family suggests donations in Margaret's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
