Beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday November 4, 2025, at Covenant Healthcare - Cooper; at the age of 82 years.
The daughter of the late George and Margaret (Varacka) Pawlanta was born on February 24, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Saginaw High School. Bonniejean married Louis Schimmoller on May 13, 1967 at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Saginaw, Michigan. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2022. She married Theodore "Ted" Stumpfig on September 14, 2024, at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Church; he survives her.
Bonniejean was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved her cats. She was very active at the Saginaw County Senior Centers, where she met Ted. They enjoyed playing cards and Bingo with their friends. Bonniejean was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church and attended Reach Community Church. Above all, she cherished time spent with family and loved ones.
Surviving are her husband Ted Stumpfig, two sons and their spouses: Jay and Diane Schimmoller, Kory and Denise Schimmoller; grandchildren: Jay (Jenna Schneider) Schimmoller II, Jayann (Lisa DeVore, Benjamin Northup) Schimmoller, Mason Schimmoller, Kenneth (Denise Graham) Schimmoller, Meleigha (Ryan) North; one great-grandchild, Chase North; as well as step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Juliana (Bill McClintic) Hall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Honoring Bonniejean's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St., Saginaw, MI 48602. Rev. Fr. Richard John will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am until the time of mass. Burial will follow at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery, Shepherd, Michigan, for those who wish to join the family. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
