Bradley D. Flatt, Jr. 47, of Goodland, IN passed away at his home early Wednesday morning, January 22, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Rensselaer, IN on August 25, 1977, the son of Bradley Flatt, Sr. and Brenda (Bruce) Flatt. He was a 1996 graduate of North Newton High School. In high school Brad played baseball and was a member of the FFA.
On May 15, 2004, in Watseka, IL he married the love of his life, Heather Harwood. Brad was a "people person". He also was a jokester and loved a good joke. He also loved animals. Over the years, he and Heather adored their many fur babies, including five dogs: Fern, Addy, Missy, Scooter and Sassy, and two cats, Emmie and Dee.
From a young age, Brad loved bicycles. He was an avid rider, and he also enjoyed repairing bikes. For their 20th anniversary, Brad and Heather took a memorable trip to the Bicycle Museum of America in Ohio. Brad also loved camp fires, fishing, yardwork, and visiting Menard's with his dad.
He is survived by his loving wife, Heather Flatt of Goodland, IN; his parents, Brad and Brenda Flatt of Morocco, IN; one brother, Brett Flatt of Morocco, IN; his mother-in-law, Cathy Harwood of Watseka, IL; two brothers-in-law, Clayton (Jen) Harwood of Lake Village, IN and Jeff Harwood of Watseka, IL; and one sister-in-law, Kim Harwood of Watseka, IL. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Betty Flatt; his maternal grandparents, Delbert and Hester Bruce; and his father-in-law, Howard "Butch" Harwood.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29, 2025 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral at noon at Steinke Funeral Home of Morocco. Pastor Bill Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Following the graveside service, a dinner will be held at the Morocco Firehouse.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
