Brandon David Sizemore, 35, of Sykesville, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 11, 2025.
Born in Beckley, West Virginia, and raised in Pineville, WV Brandon moved to Maryland in 2005. He built a life rooted in hard work, loyalty, and deep love for his family. While working full-time, he earned his bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity Management and Policy from UMUC, and quickly made his mark in the cybersecurity field. He approached every challenge with determination, pride, and a drive to be the very best at what he did.
Brandon was known for his generosity, wit, and unwavering commitment to the people he loved, bringing kindness and laughter to every room he entered. He was affectionately known as the family's personal IT help desk, always willing to troubleshoot and solve any problem with a smile - no matter how busy he was. He loved music, grilling, smoking meat, enjoying good bourbon, and cheering for his beloved West Virginia Mountaineers. A die-hard fan of all things WV, Brandon carried his home state with him wherever he went.
More than anything, Brandon loved spending time with his wife, Emily, and their extended family. After several years of navigating cancer and infertility together, Brandon and Emily were overjoyed to be expecting their first child this October. He was intensely excited to become a father - a role he had already embraced with love and pride.
Brandon is survived by his wife, Emily Sizemore (née Gaynor); his mother, Carolyn Benson (formerly Carolyn Sizemore, née Pratt); his mother-in-law, Donna Gaynor; his brother- and sister-in-law, Brady and Stacy Gaynor; and his beloved niece and nephew, Meredith and Logan, who adored their "Uncle B." He is also remembered with love by many extended family members and friends whose lives he touched. Brandon was preceded in death by his father, Larry David Sizemore, and his father-in-law, George Gaynor.
A service to celebrate Brandon's life will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025 at Chesapeake Christian Fellowship, 377 W Central Avenue, Davidsonville, MD 21035. Viewings will take place from 1:00–3:00 p.m. and 5:00–7:00 p.m., with a brief prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to contribute to a fund for the future of Brandon's greatest legacy - his child, who will be born this October. Donations will support baby needs, general living expenses, and help ease the financial burden as Emily navigates life without Brandon. This includes maintaining the home they recently moved into together - their long-dreamed-of family home - or any future changes needed in the best interest of their growing family.
