Brayan Carranza Rivera, de 23 años y residente de Lincolnton, falleció el miércoles 29 de octubre de 2025. Nació el 7 de diciembre de 2001 en Huitzuco, Guerrero, México, hijo de Reyna Carranza Rivera y del difunto Jorge Castañón Catalán.
Brayan se graduó de la preparatoria de Lincolnton en 2021. Le apasionaban los videojuegos y soñaba con estudiar para ser desarrollador de videojuegos o programador. Le encantaba escuchar su música a todo volumen, para que toda la casa y probablemente el vecindario la oyeran a diario. Era un joven trabajador, respetuoso y cariñoso, y un excelente hermano.
Le sobreviven su madre y padrastro, Reyna Carranza Catalán y Leonel Lanuza; sus hermanos, Alondra Castañón Carranza, Luz María Castañón Carranza, Jorge Castañón Carranza, José Carlos Carranza Rivera, Emily Carranza Lanuza y Kimberly Carranza Lanuza; sus abuelos maternos, Eli Santos Rivera y Delfino Carranza Hernández; y su tío, Sergio Carranza Rivera.
La misa de funeral se celebrará el viernes 7 de noviembre de 2025 a las 12:00 del mediodía en la iglesia católica de Santa Dorotea. Oficiará el padre Michael Carlson. La familia recibirá el pésame en la funeraria Carpenter-Porter de 9:00am a 11:00am, antes de la misa. Tras la misa, tendrá lugar el entierro en el cementerio Hollybrook de Lincolnton.

Brayan Carranza Rivera, age 23, of Lincolnton passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025. He was born December 7, 2001, in Huitzuco Guerrero, Mexico, son of Reyna Carranza Rivera and the late Jorge Castanon Catalan.
Brayan was a 2021 graduate of Lincolnton high school. Brayan was passionate about gaming and hoped to one day study to become a game developer or computer programmer. He loved blasting his music so the whole house and probably the neighborhood could hear it every day. He was a hard worker and a respectful and caring son and brother.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Reyna Carranza Catalan and Leonel Lanuza; siblings, Alondra Castanon Carranza, Luz Maria Castanon Carranza, Jorge Castanon Carranza, Jose Carlos Carranza Rivera, Emily Carranza Lanuza, and Kimberly Carranza Lanuza; Maternal grandparents, Eli Santos Rivera, and Delfino Carranza Hernandez; and uncle, Sergio Carranza Rivera.
Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM Noon, Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Carlson officiating. The family will receive friends at Carpenter-Porter Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the service. Following his Funeral Mass, burial will take place at Lincolnton Hollybrook Cemetery.
