Brenda J. (May) Brown passed away on April 13, 2023. She was born on May 26, 1955, in Scottsburg, Indiana, to Eldred "Andy" and Evelyn (Smith) May.
Brenda was a gal who wore many hats. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, the list is endless. Brenda was a cosmetologist, who eventually opened her own shop, Wyatt's Beauty Salon. She eventually began teaching cosmetology at Tristate Beauty College. If anyone knew Brenda, they could count themselves blessed. She always put others before herself and made sure everyone was taken care of before even thinking of herself. Brenda loved cooking too. Even if you weren't hungry, Brenda would make sure you ate something she made; everything she cooked and baked was with a special kind of love, especially her chocolate cake. She was the glue that held everyone together. She loved her family and especially those grandkids. Brenda has left a legacy for them, the lessons she taught of how to love; how to love each other, and how to love others. The tangible presence of what she brought into the lives of those who met her will be missed but will also live on, continually making a difference in the lives of those who cross the paths of her family.
Brenda is survived by her husband of, 45 years, Lee Brown; her sons, Evan (Kandi) Norman and Wyatt (Micah) Brown; her stepdaughter, Andrea Goodson; her grandchildren, Joshua (Alley) Norman, Valerie (Kainen Haggard) Brown, Mackenzie Brown, Raelyn Brown, and Kaylee Belle Goodson; her sisters, Lana May, and Lisa May; her aunt, Wyona Hall; and many more loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Geraldine Wood; her brother, Jerry May; her stepson, Eric Lee Brown; and a granddaughter, Brooke.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
