Brenda Sue (Mitchell) Haney passed away at age 67 on November 11, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.
Services will be Saturday, November 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverview Baptist Church in Borger, Texas, followed by graveside services at 4:00 p.m. in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors in Borger, Texas.
Brenda Sue Mitchell was born on June 17, 1958, to Betty Sue (Rook) and Roy Edward Mitchell in Shamrock, Texas. She attended school as a member of the Shamrock High School Class of 1977 and maintained cherished relationships with her classmates until her passing. She married Feliciano Segura, Jr., in Shamrock, Texas, and into this union were born two daughters, Felicia Sue and April Michelle Segura, and two sons, Feliciano (Beau) Segura, III and Alan Mitchell Segura. She married Charles (Chuck) Haney on August 27, 2001, in Borger, Texas, and welcomed a son and daughter into her family: Stephen Andrew and Melody Ann Haney.
Brenda had a gift for interior design, and her beautiful home was decorated inside and out with great joy and skill. She loved spending time with her family and traveled to attend many of her grandchildren’s activities. She was a faithful member of Riverside Baptist Church in Borger. She took great pleasure in cleaning her church for many years, and she expanded her cleaning services for several elderly people in Borger who became extended members of her family.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, two infant daughters, and fourteen first cousins.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Haney of Borger; sons Beau Segura of Altus, Oklahoma; Alan Segura of Pampa; Stephen Haney and wife, Michelle of Amarillo; and daughter Melody Sena and husband, Vicente of Austin; eight grandsons, Dylan, Devon, Dacota, Elijah, and Joseph Segura all of Childress; Jimmer Segura of Pampa; and Bruce and Bayley Haney of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Kaydi Akin of Lubbock, Preslie Segura of Pampa, and Kloie Bravo of Amarillo; three great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in law, Mickey and Pam Mitchell of Shamrock; nephew Jay Morlan of Hamilton County, Texas; and eight first cousins.
