Brenda Sparks, 77, cherished Mom, Nana, Big Nana, and Great Big Nana, ran into the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2025. She was born to Clayton and Hazel Bobo in Tuscaloosa on November 1, 1947. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Magnolia Chapel North with Pastor Bubba Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Big Creek Cemetery in Coker, Ala. with Magnolia Chapel North directing. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. til 11:00 a.m. at Magnolia Chapel North.
Brenda's first love was the Lord, whom she faithfully served since she was a young child. Her second love was her children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. If her family wasn't gathered at her home eating her famous lasagna, you could find them eating together at Taco Casa. Another one of Brenda's loves was none other than the Alabama Crimson Tide. She cheered loudly when the Tide came out on top, and also when the Auburn Tigers found a way to lose.
Brenda worked hard. She spent over 40 years working at the Alabama Book Store, later called Bama Stuff. She would always say, "Have a Roll Tide day!" Most recently, she enjoyed interacting with her customers at Dollar General on Rose Blvd. Brenda possessed a unique ability to make everyone she met feel valued and important.
She will be greatly missed, but she now has the best view imaginable from heaven.
Brenda is survived by her son Charlie (Alicia) Wise; son Michael (Tina) Sparks; daughter Christian (Jay) Ford; grandson Chuck (Pilar) Wise; grandson Matt (Menglin) Wise; granddaughter Abby (Clint) Gilliland; granddaughter Erin (Taylor) Wilkerson; granddaughter Sarah Ellis Sparks; granddaughter Lexi Grace Ford; granddaughter Emma Caroline Ford; granddaughter Maddie Sparks; granddaughter Olivia Kate Ford; great-granddaughter Cecelia Wise; great-granddaughter Maevry Mack Gilliland; great-granddaughter Charlotte Wise.
Forever in our hearts, Nana! Roll Tide!
