Brent Maurice Bass, age 54, of Halifax, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.
Brent was born on November 5, 1969 to John and Pearl Bass in Halifax, NC. He was in management at Hussy Automotive and Car Quest Auto Parts for most of his working career. Following retirement from his auto parts career, he worked with his brother, Mike, at Bass Repair in Scotland Neck. Brent loved cutting grass, working on cars and hustling. He was a wonderful father, brother and friend.
Brent was preceded in death by his mother, Ora Pearl Bass; his father, John Claiborne Bass; his wife, Desiree Bass; his sisters, Marla Denise Wiggins, Laura Ann Bass and Kimberly Lanier; and his brothers, David Bass and Gene Bass.
Brent is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Bass Welbaum and her husband Michael of Raleigh; his sons, Chandler Bass and Corey Bass both of Halifax; his sisters, Sonya Hope Bass of Scotland Neck, Angela Leigh Bass of Mebane and Janie Lyn Rogers and her husband Art of Haw River; and his brothers, Eddie Bass and his wife Candace of Halifax, Mike Bass and Phyllis O'Neal of Halifax, William Bass and his wife Carole Anne of Scotland Neck and John Bass of Halifax.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service - Letchwoth Chapel in Scotland Neck. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Immediately following the service there will be a gathering to remember Brent and Desiree at the home of John Bass, 3542 Mary Chapel Road, Halifax, NC.
