Victoria Lorraine Baisey Davenport, age 78, closed her eyes in death and instantly awakened in her Savior's arms on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Victoria was a devoted wife and loving mother. She worked tirelessly to provide for those she loved. It was her delight to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for her family with her excellent cooking and well-kept home. Her green thumb could make anything grow in her beautiful flower and vegetable garden. Vicki served behind the scenes in quiet ways that made a difference at her beloved church, Red Oak Baptist, preparing CDs of sermons and gift bags for guests from her own resources. She loved walking along the beach, giving gifts at Christmas, and brightening the day for the elderly through Meals on Wheels and Compassion Cafe. Everything she touched with her strength, compassion and wisdom was made better, brighter, and more beautiful. She will be missed every day, but all of her children and grandchildren have laid hold to her faith in Christ and will see her again.
Victoria was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Mark Baisey, Sr. and Thelma Judge Baisey; her husband, Phillip "Phil" Leon Davenport; her brothers, Clyde Mark Baisey, Jr., Kenneth Robert Basiey, Sr. and Charles Wayne Baisey; and her sister, Linda Baisey Reinker.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Davenport and wife Terry of Nashville; her daughter, Teresa Kao and husband Stephen of Lancaster, PA; her sisters, Dorothy Suit and husband Charles of Scotland Neck, Jane Martin and husband Lowell of Boiling Spring Lakes, Judy Mixson and husband Johnathan of Lodge, SC, and Debra Sue Marlowe of Bolivia, NC; her grandchildren, Jeremy Lucas and wife Kristina of Rocky Mount, Caleb Kao of Denver, CO, Connor Davenport of Nashville, Bethany Kao of Washington, DC, Alston Davenport of Nashville, and Micah Kao of Lancaster, PA; and her great-grandchildren, Kate Lucas, Cole Lucas, and Chloe Lucas all of Rocky Mount.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Red Oak Baptist Church, 5515 Red Oak Road, Red Oak, NC. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sunnyside Cemetery in Scotland Neck.
