Brent Hilyer Obituary
Brent Eric Hilyer, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, known for his humbleness and gentle nature, passed away peacefully on December 25th at the age of 63 years. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jada Hilyer, sons Perry (Katie) and Russell (Bethany) Hilyer, daughter Erica Hilyer, Granddaughters Amelia and Evelyn Hilyer and grandson Grant Hilyer, sister Robin Hilyer (Dr. William Price), several nieces, nephews and his four-legged arch nemesis/nurse dog, Max.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Sandra, and his brother Mark.
As a father, Brent's wisdom, kindness, and sense of humor shaped the lives of his children. A man of integrity and compassion, Brent's warmth touched the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories, sound advice and his one dance move.
Brent was an electronic technician and enjoyed volunteering as youth baseball and softball coach, church volunteer, Thorsby High School band booster, Meals on Wheels volunteer and other community projects. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, grilling and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Clanton First United Methodist Church, or American Cancer Society.
Friends will be received Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Anderson officiating.
Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, Thorsby, Alabama.
