Brenton Liles, a cherished member of the Shreveport community, passed away on April 1, 2024. Brenton's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, at 1:00 pm in the main sanctuary of First Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana, with a reception to follow at 3:00 pm at The Petroleum Club of Shreveport.
Born on March 12, 1986, in Shreveport, Brenton was a graduate of Captain Shreve High School. Following his graduation, he served with dedication as a Firefighter for Caddo Fire District 5, embodying the courage and selflessness that define the firefighting profession. Even after transitioning to a career as a Landman, his love for the firefighting community endured, as evidenced by his continued interest in scanner calls and his involvement with The Shreveport Police Department Special Response Team Citizens Support Group. He made lifelong friendships during his time with the fire department and had a love for helping others in the Shreveport community. Brenton's career as a Landman began in 2008 with R&O Energy, and in May 2020, he joined NextEra Energy as Head of Surface for the Haynesville Shale.
A lifelong resident of Shreveport, Brenton was an active member of AAPL and a board member of ALTAPL, contributing his expertise and passion to his field. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Brenton was a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife of four years, Mallory Jordan Liles, his loving parents Philip Liles and Leisa Tompkins, his sister (and lifelong best friend) Lindsi Hanchey and husband Patrick, and numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
Brenton's magnetic personality and contagious laughter endeared him to all who crossed his path. With a quick wit and a genuine interest in others, he earned the affectionate nickname "The Mayor of Shreveport," as he effortlessly made connections and built lasting friendships wherever he went. Brenton found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was hunting and fishing, cheering on LSU football, enjoying live music, or simply spending time with loved ones. Though he may have struggled on the golf course, Brenton excelled in the game of life, leaving an unforgettable legacy of laughter, love, and loyalty. He adored his beloved pups Tammi and Fancy, as well as the newest addition to the family, Franklin P. Liles, whose playful antics brought comfort and joy during Brenton's final days.
Honoring Brenton as pallbearers will be Grayson Boucher, Cody Brazzel, Lee Grigsby, Patrick Hanchey, John Jackson, Gage Liles, Matt Maberry, Ryan McMaster, Whitney Miller, and Esteban Valdés.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate medical professionals at Ochsner LSU Health, the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA), and the brave firefighters of Shreveport Fire Department Station 10. In his final act of generosity, Brenton was an organ donor, continuing to give even in his passing.
Brenton Liles will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy of kindness and compassion will endure for generations to come.

I always enjoyed hanging out with Brenton, when we'd all meet up at Country Tavern or the Mardi Gras cookouts. Brenton was truly a great friend. My condolences to Mallory and the Liles family. God received a true angel.
