Bret David Buckridge ObituaryBret David Buckridge, 54, passed away on February 25, 2025, in his hometown of Colorado
Springs, Colorado. Born on March 29, 1970, also in Colorado Springs, Bret lived a life full of
passion, laughter, and unwavering authenticity.
A proud member of Palmer High School's Class of 1988, Bret continued his education at Ottawa
University, where he earned his bachelor's degree and graduated in 1993. His academic
journey was a testament to his drive for personal growth and determination to carve out a
meaningful path.
Above all else in life, Bret found his greatest joy and purpose in being a father. His two children,
Morgan Lehmann and Madison Buckridge, were the center of his world. His devotion to them
was unwavering and filled with unconditional love. He also shared a deep connection with his
brother Sean Buckridge; niece Ashley Cook ; nephew Alex Buckridge; and a large extended
family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will carry forward treasured
memories of him.
Bret was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Rojean Buckridge; Aunt & Uncles:Ed and
Valda Eyl, Walter and Fayrene Dittman, Johnny Tyma ; his lifelong friend Michael Scheideman; as well as other cherished relatives and companions whose memories he held close to his
heart.
Known for an infectious personality that could light up any room, Bret lived boldly and
unapologetically. His laughter was contagious, his smile unforgettable. Whether sharing a joke
or simply being present with those around him, he left a lasting impression on everyone he
encountered.
A true Coloradoan through and through, Bret's passion for local sports ran deep-none more so
than for the Denver Broncos. Game days were sacred rituals marked by energy and loyalty that
matched any stadium crowd. He also brought that same enthusiasm to watching WWE Monday
Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. Sundays often found him enjoying peaceful rounds of
golf under the wide-open Colorado skies-a pastime that brought him both calm and joy.
To celebrate Bret's life and legacy, a Celebration of Life will be held on July 20, 2025, at Mary
Kyer Park Pavilion located at 1102 Middle Creek Parkway in Colorado Springs (80921). A
reception will follow at The Parkway Tavern. His ashes will be spread in the mountains of
Colorado, so that we can look to the mountains in times of need and see that he is finally free.
Though Bret may no longer walk among us, the echoes of his laughter and the warmth of his
spirit remain forever etched in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to
those who loved him most.
