Brian Wade Anderson was called home to his eternal rest on May 27, 2024, at the age of seventy. He was the youngest son of the late Arthur J. and Billie D. Anderson. He was born and raised in Binghamton, New York and graduated from Binghamton Central High School, where he excelled in the sport of basketball which was his absolute passion. After high school he attended Oklahoma State University, Lock Haven University and Harper College pursuing his basketball scholarships. However, it was at Prairie View A&M University in Houston, Texas where he received his BA Degree and he continued to play basketball with the hope and desire to play professionally. However, due to injuries that dream as a professional did not manifest itself. He did however, receive a medal for the number one best basketball player at the Venice Beach Tournaments in California which he participated in yearly. Brian was an avid sports fan, and his favorite teams are the Boston Celtic who won the NBA championship as a heavenly gift to him. Then, the Celtic's all-time Hall of Famer Bill Walton also transitioned on the same day as Brian. His other team is the New York Giant and he owned many items sporting that name which his cousins Carolyn and Kim Chambers made sure he represented his team well.
Brian experienced many near death situations in his life that he earned the nick name "Cat" with nine lives. He referred to himself as "cat from the Himalayas." After, college he became a residence of Los Angeles, California and lived there for over thirty plus years. Brian worked at several jobs, but his longest assignment was working as a sales representative for a Japanese Tourist Magazine in LA. This job provided him many comps throughout the years which privileged him and the family the opportunity to wine and dine at several five-star establishments from LA to San Francisco. This job also opened the door for Brian to travel the world. His favorite destination was Dubrovnik, Croatia which he visited three years in a row. He gained many friends there that when his sister Roxanne (a travel agent) took a group on a cruise that included a stop in Dubrovnik. Brian's friends met them at the ship and gave them a personal tour of the city and treated them to a wonderful lunch. The apartment where he always stayed was part of their tour. His roommate was about seven feet tall.
Due to Brian's outgoing and storytelling personality, he met many celebrities in Hollywood (according to him) and gain many friends near and far. Everything to him was the best in the whole world! When the owner of the magazine company took ill, the company folded-up and Brian returned to Binghamton. It was during this time he was company and caretaker for his mom until she passed ten months earlier. His brother Gary Anderson and sister Penny Sanders preceded him in death. Left behind to cherish his memory are his Uncle Robby (Albany, N.Y.), sister Roxanne Grahm (Florida) brothers E. James (Dee) Anderson of Las Vegas, Carl (Kathy) Anderson (Florida). And a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and many wonderful friends. Brian will be truly missed by all but never ever forgotten.
