Brian Dana Baer of Hooksett, NH, passed away peacefully at the age of 67 on December 31, 2024, surrounded by the woman he adored, his siblings, best friends, and family.
Born in Lancaster, PA, on October 2, 1957, Brian was the second son of Chief Master Sergeant Thomas William Baer and Charlotte Trafton Baer. As part of an Air Force family, Brian's childhood was spent in Morocco, Germany, Maine, New York, and Arizona before finally settling in Hooksett.
A Manchester Central High School Graduate, Brian attended the University of New Hampshire in Durham. Brian cherished a strong circle of lifelong friends, enjoying fishing year-round and hunting in the fall during his younger years. A passionate cribbage player, he won a New England regional tournament in 2013, leading him to compete in the American Cribbage Congress Open in Reno, NV.
A die-hard Kansas City Royals fan, he shared this enthusiasm with his son, Adam, and treasured summer baseball trips and ballgames. Sundays were spent rooting for the Cincinnati Bengals and enjoying culinary pursuits.
In retirement, Brian stayed connected with his Manchester High School Class of 1975, notably organizing their 50th-anniversary reunion. A history enthusiast like his father, he played an active role in the Hooksett Historical Society.
Brian is survived by his devoted wife, Michelle Willett Baer; son, Adam Trafton Baer and his wife Jordan of Manchester, NH. He leaves behind his older brother, Randy Baer of Altadena, CA; sister, Beverly Drouin and brother-in-law, Michael of Boscawen, NH; younger brother, David Baer and sister-in-law, Karyn of Webster, NH and Ocala, FL. He also leaves sixteen nieces and nephews, along with a large extended family he deeply cherished.
Visiting hours will be at Purdy Memorial Chapel in Lee, NH on February 3rd from 10am – 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Brian's name to the Hooksett Historical Society.

This photo is from Brian´s Aunt Ruth Baer´s birthday party. It was a joy to be a part of the Arnold/Baer family and visit with Brian and family. His smile, kindness, and the affectionate nickname he called me "the quinoa salad queen" will forever be held dear. My heart breaks for Michelle and Adam and give my deepest sympathy to the Baer family. Christine Rice McKenney
