It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brian Scott Criswell, age 40, on August 26th, 2025.
Born on November 25, 1984 in San Diego, California and moved to Amarillo, Texas as a young child where he lived the rest of his life. Brian is survived by his parents, Tim and Terri Criswell; his sister, Brandy Criswell; partner, Kirsten Lambright; grandparents, John and Joanna Criswell; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Brian graduated from Amarillo High School in 2003 and started his career at Headsets Inc. He had a true passion for precision, whether it was building intricate model cars and airplanes or contributing his expertise to the development of innovative noise-canceling headsets for pilots. Which ultimately inspired him to take flying courses at Tradewinds Airport, where he fulfilled his dream of flying planes solo.
He loved spending quality time with his loyal rescue dogs, Freyja, Auggie, and Lilly who were his constant companions and brought him endless joy. He cherished the simple, quiet moments of life and spent his free time playing video games, watching anime, and visiting the park to throw frisbees and fly kites. He deeply loved his family and close friends.
A celebration of Brian's life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in honoring his memory and the impact he had on their lives.
Though his journey on earth has ended, Brian will forever soar in our hearts. Fly high, Brian, and may you always find clear skies.
