Brian Edward Kelly

Brian Edward Kelly was born May 25,1971 in West Islip, New York and passed away on November 13, 2024 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He was a dedicated Marine. Beloved husband, father and brother.
At the age of 18, Brian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, embodying the highest standards of commitment and service throughout his career. He served in various aviation billets during both peacetime and combat, which took him across the globe, leaving a lasting impact on the Avionics community. His dedication earned him numerous awards and accolades, culminating in his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel on November 10,2021.
Beyond his military achievements, Brian's family was the cornerstone of his life. Though born an only child he accepted and cultivated a clan of people he called his own. He grew up with step and half siblings but in his heart they were nothing less than whole. Over time his clan grew to include his wife Gina, the love of his life, their children Nathaniel, Brett, Elijah (Kailee), Zachariah, Travis (Miranda), Rebekah (Aidan) and Tyler, and their grandchildren Gabriella, Rylie, Tegan, Camilla, Ezekiel, Eveyln and Valentina.
Brian was known for his humor, adventurous spirit and love of life. He had a knack for bringing joy to those around him and never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. With just the right amount of attitude to keep things interesting, he embraced life to its fullest. Among his greatest joys were his grandchildren, whose presence filled him with immeasurable love and pride.
A memorial service will be held on December 7, 2024 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 2002 Laskin Road, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23454 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, causes close to Brian's heart.
