Brian Douglas Leach Sr.

Brian Douglas Leach, Sr. of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at the age of 74. Brian was born on October 26, 1948 to Loren Francis and Joan Madeline Leach in Auburn, New York. Brian worked for Alban Tractor as a sales representative for Caterpillar and owned Paper Plus The Party Store in Hagerstown, MD. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Constance; two children, son Brian (Rachel) Leach and daughter Heather Crabtree; four grandchildren, Anneliese, Anna-Marie, Isaac, and Elaina. Family and faith were most important to Brian. He was a soccer coach and role model to his own children and numerous children throughout Washington County benefiting from his coaching. He was just as involved in his grandchildren's lives with a sincere interest and support for each grandchild. Brian and Connie enjoyed traveling our beautiful country and also many Caribbean islands. Brian lived out his Faith to the end as St. Augustine said "Let us understand that God is a physician, and that suffering is a medicine for salvation, not a punishment for damnation". Brian was a faithful member at St. Ann Catholic Church. Brian put others first often noticing what others needed, was a good listener, and "cool dude" to his family, friends and even strangers. His graciousness and loving nature left an impact on people blessed to know him. Family will receive friends Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 5, 2023 at 10:00 am at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742, with Msgr. J. Bruce Jarboe as celebrant. There will be a reception immediately following Mass in the Parish Center.
